COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Final Touch Training is designed to prepare massage therapists and other health professionals to provide safe, skilled touch for people with advanced illness.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:

This course is open to all massage therapists, nurses, Reiki therapists, social workers, EOL doulas and other health professionals.

20 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) – No partial credits will be given.

All of Final Touch Trainings are approved by NCBTMB for continuing education hours for massage therapists. We also offer CE hours for other professionals through the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois. TUITION:

$450 for massage therapy CEs when registered by September 6, 2023; $475 after

$470 for nursing CEs when registered by September 6, 2023; $495 after *

*CEs for nursing are provided through the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois at an additional cost ($20.00). Be sure to select the correct option for CEs when registering.

REFUND POLICY:

Students who must drop the class can either choose to apply their tuition toward a future class OR receive a refund minus a $150 processing fee. Student must notify instructor prior to the start of class in order to receive credit or partial refund.  If the course is cancelled for any reason, student will be refunded 100% of tuition.

COVID POLICY:

Students and instructors will be masked during hands-on practice. We will have surgical masks available for those who need one. Masking will be optional during other times of the class.

Our policy is based on current infection rates and guidelines at the hospice inpatient unit where we teach. We will advise participants in advance of any changes in the policy.

Please do not attend class if you have symptoms of an upper respiratory infection or other illness.

THINGS TO BRING:

• Pen

• Pocket Folder or Notebook, if desired

• Unscented lotion or cream

• 1 set of sheets for massage table-(one flat and one fitted, no face cradle cover needed)

• 1 blanket or throw

• 1 bath towel, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths

• 2 pillows and 2 pillow cases

• Your copy of the book: Palliative Touch: Massage for People at the End of Life, if using

• Massage table if you are able to bring one. We will not use face cradles.

TEXT FOR THIS CLASS:

Throughout the class we will refer to Palliative Touch: Massage for People at the End of Life, available now at Handspring Publishing and Amazon. The book is recommended but not required.
