Susan Gee is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and has completed a 300-hour oncology massage certification at the Peregrine Institute of Oncology Massage Training. She is a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist in the Vodder technique and the owner of Progressive Massage Therapy, specializing in massage for people living with cancer and those with complex medical histories.
Susan’s call to end-of-life work came early in her massage career, when her sister was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. As one of her sister’s primary caretakers, she had the privilege of adapting massage for a terminally ill family member.
Susan currently works in private practice providing massage for people with cancer and other chronic diseases. She provides massage in the chemo infusion room at UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute in Little Rock, and is contracted by Dierksen Hospice providing massage for hospice patients in their homes and care facilities. She worked as an independent contractor for Vista Care Hospice and VITAS Innovative Health Care in Dallas.
Her professional memberships include the National Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, The American Massage Therapy Association, and the Society for Oncology Massage. Susan is a certified end-of-life doula, creator of two online courses A Guide for Massage Therapists: How to Provide Gentle-Touch Massage in Home or Care Facility and A Guide for Caregivers: How to Provide Gentle-Touch Massage for Your Loved One), and co-creator of Final Touch Training.
Susan enjoys the serenity and peace that her lake home provides. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and four granddaughters, and paddling around the lake in her kayak.
